The sixth Factions arc has begun. Faction rosters are available here. You can also read the Herald’s special report.
Sign-ups and scoring will not open until this weekend. Until then, we’re encouraging everyone to give the various factions a try in some low-pressure, low-key practice matches. There are a few reasons for taking this approach.
First, people do tend to sort themselves into warring camps once the arc gets going. I can’t bring myself to condemn the rise of some measure of factionalism within Factions. But I think it’s important to maintain a sense of cross-faction community as well. I hope that a brief introductory trial period will help establish those bonds.
Second, it provides an opportunity for new people to get some practice with the Factions mode without any points being on the line.
Third, and I would not be an honest cupcake if I did not mention this, I got home much later and more tired than I had planned due to an RL emergency, and I don’t want to go locking in crucial policy at 2 in the morning.

well crud, I was learning Sona like a monster. Now I got to switch gears and learn Soraka.
I suspect Sona may be an early pickup for Ionia.
