This weekend, Halfy will be hosting a special EUW tournament based around 1 v 1 Howling Abyss matches. Check in with Halfy for details of scheduling and rules. I’ve reviewed the main points, and on that basis authorized this as a scored Factions mini-tournament.
Structure
The tournament will open with four groups of four Summoners. Each group will contain one Summoner from each faction. Every Summoner will face off against every other Summoner in their group. The best Summoners from each group will move on to duel each other. There will then be a round of semifinals, followed by the finals. If at any point the only Summoners left in contention are from the same faction, that faction wins.
Rules
Matches will be fought on the Howling Abyss. Victory may be achieved by reaching 100 CS, destroying the enemy’s tower, or drawing first blood.
Usual rules, including Champion lists, will apply. Halfy is authorized to make on-the-spot decisions as necessary, but should not deviate from the standard tournament rules absent extraordinary circumstances. Halfy is strongly encouraged to consult with BourrinoSprotch, who as EUW Admin has immediate authority over the conduct of this tournament.
Stakes
Each match will have a base value of 1 point. That may not sound like a lot, but there will be a lot of matches.
The first-place faction will receive a flat point boost of 20 points, along with two random research breakthroughs.
The second-place faction will receive a flat point boost of 10 points, as well as one random breakthrough.

I got 2 questions: 1. Will the NA featured matches continue as normal while this EUW tournament its taking place. Getting players for each shouldn’t come into conflict with the different regions, only possible issue would be the audience having to choose between the NA featured matches and the EUW tournament (if they are streamed at the same time).
2. Seeing as the first place faction gets 2 research breakthroughs, how would that work for
Demacia who only has 1 research project? Would there 1 project get 2 breakthroughs in one week or what?

I noticed a Typo. Where it says “Its time to Duel!” your missing about 5 to 6 D’s. the correct spelling is “Its time to D-D-D-D-D-Duel!”/
